Introduction
In 1997, Hennig’s investment in Millenium Diamond Services Group Holdings Ltd (MDSGH), enabled the development of a sub-contracting, diamond manufacturing complex in India. This facility provides clients with high quality manufacturing at competitive prices without the need for them to invest their own resources.
The factory, known as WDM (Worldwide Diamond Manufacturers), was established at the Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone (VSEZ) on the east coast of India and currently employs over one thousand employees. This hi-tech factory is far superior to any competing diamond manufacturing units.
WDM is run by Belgian managers with extensive experience in establishing and running factories across the globe including in Botswana, China and Vietnam.
Our Services
The factory specializes in 2gr and up to 10 carats; Sawable, Sawn, Makeables, Chips and others, both Round and Fancy cuts, with a high quality make, using state-of-the art technologies, including automatic bruting machines and laser. Manufacturing processes include:
· Marking the goods – using the latest technology and managed by Belgian experts.
· Sawing – both conventional and laser (see rates below).
· Polishing – manual and automatic (see rates below).
Clients are offered the option of setting up exclusive departments within the Vizag factory. This provides the clients “their own factory in India”, as an alternative to contract manufacturing and has already proven to be a successful model.
Our IT infrastructure affords clients access to current updates on the status of parcels sent for manufacturing, facilitating better management and control.

The diamond industry has undergone a revolution in terms of reliance on computerized manufacture and information technology. With the ever-increasing pressure on margins, efficient manufacture has become an imperative.
WDM has developed a state-of-the-art factory giving optimum results. In addition we have developed a Factory Management System (FMS) that provides timely, relevant management information for controlling the manufacturing process. As FMS was developed in-house, our diamond polishing expertise ensured it includes those features essential to management, in a user-friendly format. The flexible system can be customized to suit individual client’s business requirements.
Main features of FMS:
· FMS can be custom-built to suit any diamond manufacturing unit.
· Captures the workflow of the factory.
· Gives detailed yield and value analysis at various stages of processing.
· Displays detailed production results as well as summarized results.
· Blocking of parcels.
· User levels can be set for relevant viewing of reports.
· Use of barcodes facilitates speed, accuracy and efficiency in handling.
· Actual weights can be applied directly from any electronic weighing scale to FMS.
